Birds of Calgary celebrates the natural beauty within our community while incorporating an educational element that brings both joy and knowledge to viewers. I hope families in the neighbourhood, especially children, will take a moment to notice the artwork and learn about some of Calgary’s most common bird species. By including labels and names, the design becomes an engaging feature that encourages curiosity and deepens residents’ connection to the land and their surroundings. The high-contrast colour palette is intended to bring warmth and vibrancy to the streetscape, particularly during Calgary’s long winters, while evoking the energy and vitality of spring and summer.
